Capital Area Visitor Information

Capital Area Visitor Information Welcomes You to Raleigh . . .

Capital Area Visitor Information, established in 1976 as a welcome and information center for the North Carolina government complex in Raleigh—the capital city since 1792—welcomes school groups, clubs and organizations, sightseers, and families. It offers a variety of free services to the public. Visitor Information coordinates visits by groups of ten or more to state-owned government and cultural attractions. Your group contact person should get in touch with Visitor Information two or more weeks in advance of your planned visit.

Capital Area Visitor Information is located in the lobby of the North Carolina Museum of History at 5 East Edenton Street in Raleigh. Parking is available in Lot 18 at the corner of Jones and Wilmington Streets, just behind the museum (entrances on Jones Street and Edenton Street; fee charged). You can find additional parking in the visitor deck between Salisbury and McDowell Streets and in the city deck opposite Exploris museum, with entrances off Wilmington and Blount Streets.
