Special Events for 2009

May 16-17 238th Anniversary of the Battle of Alamance and 18th-Century Live-in & Militia Muster. Families are encouraged to join in a weekend commemoration highlighted by demonstrations of colonial military and domestic life. A wreath-laying ceremony, a covered-dish picnic, and a special program of interest will be the featured commemorative activities from 6-9 p.m. on May 16. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

October 12-16 Colonial Living Week. Colonial-era skills and tasks will be demonstrated by costumed interpreters for school groups and public. Group reservations are required. 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

December 13 Christmas Open House (Title TBA). Enjoy activities focused on a traditional Christmas theme. Light refreshments will be served. 1-5 p.m.
